20:20 Print Exchange & Exhibition Submission

Posted in Portfolio, Printmaking by Design Robot

So I finally managed to get my prints submitted to Hot Bed Press for the 20:20 Print Exchange. I had a few issues getting the silver foil blocking to apply properly to the Somerset art paper, but overall I’m pretty happy with the results. Considering it was my first proper attempt at Zinc HydroPlate etching (and etching in general), I think the final prints look pretty good. I definitely learned a lot about inking up and plate cleaning at the weekend!

Print specs are:

“Curious City”
Limited Edition of 24 prints

2 colour zinc HydroPlate etching, with overprinted silk-screen text in white, hand printed onto 280gsm Antique Somerset Velvet paper, finished with a silver foil-blocked monogram.

Size: 20cm x 20cm
Housed in a hand-crafted 1mm greyboard container, also with white silk-screenprinted text and a silver foil-blocked monogram.

I really hope the 23 artists/printmakers around the UK who receive a copy of ‘Curious City’ like it. I can’t wait to see what prints I get in return :)
